What are the standard sizes of residential garage doors?"

Residential doors range from 8' to 18' widths 1 ft. increments with standard heights of 7' and 8'.  If needed customized sizes are available and vary by individual door series.

Can my garage door be painted?

Many residential garage doors can be painted. Please review your owner's manual for instructions. Most garage door manufacturers can powder coat your garage door in-house, offering multiple colors.

Can I replace a section of my door, or do I need to replace the whole door?

Yes, you can replace just the damaged panel. But, an assessment of the entire door will need to be performed to guarantee safety and warranty of the door. Older makes and models of panels cannot be replaced because they are no longer available.

What is R-Value as a measure of thermal efficiency?

The higher the "R-Value", the greater the insulating properties of the door and the more energy savings you will achieve.  The R-Value contains two types of R-Value insulation starting with Polystyrene Thermal Insulation, which starts at a 6.58 R-Value. Polyurethane Thermal Insulation is the highest form of R-Value, which can increase to 19.40 R-Value (this is injected insulation). There are MANY benefits to owning an insulated door. Strength, durability and longevity are key factors of an insulated door. Insulated doors provide energy efficiency, low maintenance, and an extra quiet operation.

How much does a new garage door system cost?

There are many factors that play into the price of a garage door such as: make and model, design, material, measurements, level of thermal efficiency, and geographic region. What maintenance does my garage door require?

Garage doors can be really low maintenance if properly maintained. Lubing your moving components on your garage door and opener quarterly keeps maximum consistency to your garage door. It is highly recommended to have an annual inspection performed by a Licensed Garage Door Technician. This low cost inspection will insure continued safety of the largest moving component of your home and assist with the longevity of your garage door and opener.

I have a low ceiling in my garage, will a garage door and opener work in this space?

You may need a custom built door.  You will need an On-Site Survey Consultation to assess this kind of situation, it is one of the services we provide at no cost on the initial visit.

Can my non-insulated door be insulated?"

Yes.  It is definitely something we can do for you and we also have insulation kits available for the DIY'ers.
